Prayer & adhan

My prayer times look slightly off — how do I fix them?
Open Settings → Calculation Method and pick the school used by your local mosque (e.g. Umm al-Qura, ISNA, MWL, Karachi, Egyptian). Madhhab affects Asr only — Hanafi calculates Asr later than the others. If timings still drift, ensure Location is enabled and that your device timezone is correct.
I am not getting the adhan / prayer notifications.
On Android: Settings → Apps → PocketQuran → Notifications must be on, and battery optimization should be disabled for the app (some OEMs aggressively kill background timers). On both platforms, make sure Do Not Disturb allows the prayer channel — we mark the Fajr alarm as DND-bypass when you grant the permission.
Can I choose a different reciter for the adhan?
Yes. Settings → Adhan Sound. You can pick a different reciter for each prayer — for example Makkah for Fajr and a softer voice for the rest. Pro unlocks the full reciter library.

Quran

Can I read the Quran offline?
Yes. The full mushaf, translations, and Tafsir Ibn Kathir are bundled with the app — no internet required after install. Audio recitation requires a one-time download per reciter, then plays offline.
How do I bookmark a verse or save my page?
Tap the verse number → Bookmark. Your last-read page is saved automatically every time you close the Quran reader, so reopening the app drops you exactly where you left off.

Subscription & billing

How do I cancel my Pro subscription?
Subscriptions are managed by your app store, not by us. On Android, open Google Play → Profile → Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions → PocketQuran → Cancel. On iOS, Settings → [Your name] → Subscriptions → PocketQuran → Cancel. Your Pro features remain active until the end of the current billing period.
I bought Pro on one device — how do I restore it on another?
Open the app on the new device, go to Settings → Restore Purchases, and sign in to the same Google or Apple account that made the original purchase. Entitlement should sync within a few seconds.
I was charged but Pro features are not showing.
First try Settings → Restore Purchases. If that does not resolve it within a minute, email us with your order ID (visible in Google Play or Apple receipts) and we will sort it within 48 hours.

Privacy & data

Do you collect my location?
Only on-device, to compute prayer times and orient the Qibla compass. We never send your coordinates to our servers. The full data inventory is on the Privacy page.
Do I need an account?
No. PocketQuran works fully without an account. Pro entitlement is tied to your Google / Apple account behind the scenes — we never see an email or name.
